I've been enjoying my reef aquarium from Something Fishy for more than seven months. Each month has gotten better and better as new fish and corals have been introduced. At every stage, from planning/designing the aquarium to selecting the best combination of fish and corals the service team and techs were attentive to my questions and concerns. Even six months along, they worked with me to revamp the lighting system for the aquarium and put in a completely new configuration, all to make sure I was completely satisfied. The quality of the tank, and equipment is top notch; the health of the fish and corals is excellent, the knowledge and expertise of the service techs, and the quality of service has made my enjoyment of my aquarium exactly what I wanted. Service and customer satisfaction are real hallmarks of Something Fishy. Whether I've had a concern at 4:45 on Friday afternoon, or 5:30 in the morning, support is there. I'd been looking for an aquarium design and service firm for a very long time, and I have been most satisfied by Something Fishy.

The guys at Something Fishy did an amazing job moving my tank from one residence to another. They upgrading the plumbing and made several other little but important changes that will positively impact ease of maintenance. Billy and Hunter were very professional, efficient, and patient wth all my questions. I look forward to working with them on a 2nd tank and highly recommend their services.

My home aquarium has changed my space by turning a regular living room into the one spot everyone gravitates to. We love having a large fish tank because it adds movement, color, and a really calming vibe you just can’t get any other way. Kurt and the team at Something Fishy made the whole process easy, from planning to installation, and the system has been running smoothly ever since. Their crew clearly knows what they’re doing, and we’re excited to keep working with their service team as we add more fish and coral. Highly recommend.

Our home aquarium as changed our living space - it is hard to put into words. It provides a beutiful and peaceful centerpiece for our home. The swaying coral and vibrant fish transform our kitchen. We love having a large fish tank to look at while we eat dinner -way better than watching TV :) It is constantly changing and we never get tired of looking at it.

Working with Something Fishy has been an incredible experience from start to finish. Kurt and his team went above and beyond during the design and installation - the craftsmanship and attention to detail are second to none, and the system is running flawlessly thanks to their expert setup. We love having a large fish tank because it brings life and calm energy into our home - it’s like having a living piece of art. The team is knowledgeable, professional, and clearly passionate about what they do. We are looking forward to adding more livestock with help from their aquarium service team and can't wait to see our aquarium grow over time! If you’re considering an aquarium installation (they had fantastic saltwater and freshwater systems on display within their showroom!) or professional maintenance, we can’t recommend Something Fishy enough. They exceeded our family's expectations every step of the way and truly are custom aquarium experts.

FAQs

Most aquariums are serviced weekly or biweekly, depending on size, livestock, and system complexity. Higher-end reef or heavily stocked systems may require more frequent care to maintain optimal water quality and long-term stability.

Each visit is tailored to the system, but typically includes water testing, glass cleaning, algae removal, equipment inspection, filter maintenance, and a full health check of fish and coral. We also make adjustments as needed to keep everything balanced and performing as designed.

Yes. We maintain freshwater, saltwater, and reef systems—including complex custom builds. Each type requires a different level of care, and our approach is adapted to the specific needs of your aquarium.

We provide aquarium maintenance services throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, supporting residential, commercial, and healthcare environments across the region.

Absolutely. Every system is different, so we build maintenance plans around your aquarium, your space, and your goals—whether that’s weekly service, periodic check-ins, or full-service ongoing care.
